Our Mission
Simply Cats is a cat-only, no-kill adoption center dedicated to saving lives by practicing high standards of care and fostering successful, lifelong adoptions. We work every day to ensure that every feline in our care finds the safety, stability, and love they truly deserve.
Our History and Commitment
Our journey began in the late 1980s as the Just Strays Animal Foundation, born from a simple goal to help cats who had nowhere else to turn. Since then, we have evolved into a dedicated feline-focused organization serving the Treasure Valley with a deep commitment to the human-animal bond.
Our Care Model
We operate a cageless, no-kill facility in Boise that houses over 100 cats in 13 communal rooms with secure, indoor-outdoor catio access. Our mission is supported by a robust network of more than 200 in-shelter volunteers and 150 foster families who provide essential love and care. Behind the scenes, our medical, enrichment, and behavior teams ensure every cat receives personalized attention before they find their perfect match.

Old Idaho Penitentiary's famed and fabled Dennis the Cat will be celebrated Memorial Day weekend. Dennis the Cat lived to be 16 years old and brought comfort to many inmates.
