Kankakee County Animal Control and Adoption Center
Our Mission
At Kankakee County Animal Control, we are dedicated to serving our community by providing essential care and finding loving homes for animals in need. We work every day to save lives and build a safer, more compassionate environment for every pet that comes through our doors.
Our Community Commitment
We believe in the power of local partnership and community support. Our biggest goal has always been to provide the best possible facility for our animals, a dream we proudly achieved with the opening of our new, modern shelter on June 19, 2024.
How We Care
Our shelter operates as a central hub of animal welfare, supported by a network of dedicated shelter partners and community volunteers. While our facility in Bourbonnais serves as the heart of our operations, we rely on the kindness of our community—through donations and active volunteerism—to maintain the high quality of care our animals deserve. From our spay/neuter incentive programs to our microchip clinics, we focus on proactive health and responsible ownership.
Your Role in Our Family
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect companion to join your home. Whether you are looking for a lively new friend or a calm soul to share your life, our team is committed to making the transition as smooth and rewarding as possible. By choosing to adopt, you are becoming an essential part of our mission to give every animal a second chance.
