Chicago Animal Care and Control
Our Mission
Chicago Animal Care and Control is dedicated to protecting public safety and ensuring the humane care of animals through comprehensive sheltering, pet placement, community education, and animal law enforcement.
Serving Our Community
As the city's municipal shelter, we provide essential support for the animals of Chicago. Our commitment extends beyond our walls, as we work to provide resources for pet owners and ensure that every animal in our care is treated with compassion and respect.
How We Care
Our facility at 2741 S. Western Avenue serves as a hub of activity where our dedicated staff and volunteers work daily to improve the quality of life for the animals housed here. We provide enrichment, exercise, and essential medical care to prepare our residents for their future homes, while also collaborating with rescue partners to expand the reach of our life-saving efforts.
Building Your New Partnership
Adopting a pet is a significant, rewarding commitment that begins with a thoughtful match. We encourage you to visit our facility to meet our animals and work with our team to find the perfect companion for your household, ensuring a bond that will last a lifetime.
