Vermillion County Department of Animal Regulation
Our Mission
At the Vermilion County Animal Shelter, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care for the animals of our community while working to ensure every pet finds a loving, permanent home. Our team works tirelessly to support responsible pet ownership and create a safer, healthier future for all our animal friends.
Who We Are
Located in Tilton, Illinois, our department serves as an open-intake facility for all of Vermilion County. Since our beginnings, we have grown to manage hundreds of animal-related calls and intakes each month, consistently striving to improve the lives of the animals in our care through proactive programs like our Community Cats initiative and local food pantry.
How We Care
We operate a professional shelter environment where every animal is treated with care and respect from the moment they arrive. Our team utilizes a dedicated foster network and a supportive on-site medical staff to ensure our pets receive the socialization, enrichment, and health services they need while they wait for their forever families.
The Joy of Adoption
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we believe in making that connection as seamless as possible. We encourage potential adopters to meet our wonderful residents, and our team is always here to help you navigate our simple application process to find the perfect match for your home and lifestyle.
