Granny Rose Animal Shelter (formerly Tri- County Animal Protection League)

Our Mission

Granny Rose Animal Shelter fosters hope and a home for pets in need. We work tirelessly to promote compassionate, loving care as we connect every dog and cat with their forever family.

Who We Are

Established as a not-for-profit organization, we provide a safe haven for abandoned and homeless animals in our community. Our dedicated staff and loyal volunteers are united by a vision of a future where every pet is cherished and shelters become a distant memory.

How We Care

We believe that every animal deserves a soft landing, which is why we provide a full health and wellness exam and temperament testing for every intake. While in our care, animals receive vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying or neutering to ensure they are healthy and ready for their new life. We also operate a robust foster program, providing specialized environments for kittens, puppies, and animals needing extra TLC outside the shelter walls.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Adoption is a joyful partnership, and our small, passionate crew is here to guide you through the process. We invest time in getting to know each animal's personality, ensuring that your transition to life together is filled with confidence and love. From the moment you submit your application to the day you pick up your new best friend, we are here to support your journey.

10/2 - 🚨 SEVEN KITTENS. TAPED INSIDE A BOX. LEFT BY OUR DUMPSTER. 🚨 This morning, around 9:00 AM, we walked outside and found SEVEN KITTENS taped up inside a cardboard box and abandoned by our dumpster. Seven tiny lives. Seven kittens who were scared, hungry, confused and completely dependent on someone else to do the right thing. And now they are our responsibility. They will need veterinary care, examinations, vaccines, deworming, food, litter and eventually spay/neuter surgeries. Seven kittens means seven times the supplies, seven times the veterinary expenses and seven more animals taking up space in a shelter that is already operating at capacity. And here’s the part we need people to understand: WE ARE A SMALL SHELTER. We do not have endless kennels sitting empty. We don’t have a giant facility with unlimited space. We don’t have a magic room that appears every time someone decides they no longer want an animal. In fact, we have a waiting list. When someone needs to surrender an animal, we ask that they contact us and coordinate an intake time so the animal can be safely brought through our doors. If we don’t have space, we will do everything we can to help. We may connect you with another shelter or rescue that has availability. We may schedule an intake for a later date depending on adoptions and when space becomes available. But please do not leave animals on our property. Not by the dumpster. Not at the front door. Not in a box. Not overnight. Not “just for a little while.” Because when you abandon an animal here, you aren’t dropping off a problem that magically disappears. You are creating an emergency that our small shelter has to absorb. And that emergency comes with a bill. 💔 Seven kittens = another unexpected expense for Granny Rose. We are not government funded. Every bag of food, every vaccine, every medication, every veterinary procedure and every piece of litter comes out of money that our community helps us raise. We love these babies. We will care for them. We will make sure they are safe. But we cannot keep doing this without you. 💰 THESE KITTENS NEED SPONSORS. If you have ever said, “I wish I could help an animal,” this is your chance. A $5 donation helps. $10 helps. $25 helps. $50 helps. And if 100 people each gave just $10, that would be $1,000 toward the veterinary care and supplies these seven babies now need. Please donate today and help us turn a terrible start into a second chance. 👀 AND ONE MORE THING… If you know who abandoned these kittens, please reach out to us. We are not asking anyone to publicly confront or harass anyone. We simply want information about what happened and, most importantly, why these kittens were left this way. If you have information, please contact Granny Rose Animal Shelter directly. Please don’t let this become just another post that gets shared for a day and forgotten tomorrow. These seven kittens are now depending on our community. ❤️ Donate. Share. Sponsor a kitten. Tell your friends. And please — if you have an animal that needs help, call us first. We will work with you. We will try to find a solution. We will help you navigate the options. Just don’t leave them outside and hope we’ll figure it out. Because we will. We always do. But we shouldn’t have to find seven kittens taped inside a box to discover that they need us. 🐾 Granny Rose Animal Shelter Because rescue doesn’t happen by magic. It happens because people care — and because people give.

9/17 - 🚨 8 DOGS. ONE OVERCROWDED HOME. A COMMUNITY THAT CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. 🚨 Today, we need to ask you for something that goes beyond sharing a post. We need you to help us give these 8 dogs the second chance they deserve. ❤️ Granny Rose Animal Shelter recently took in 8 dogs from an overcrowded home. Three adults and five puppies, approximately 10 weeks old, and just over a year. Eight lives that needed someone to step in. Eight lives that now belong to all of us. And while we wish we could tell you that bringing them through our doors is where the hard work ends, the reality of rescue is very different. These dogs desperately needed veterinary care. Their surgeries, medical needs, and ongoing care come with a cost. A cost that our shelter must find a way to cover, even when donations are slow, resources are stretched, and our capacity is pushed to its limits. But we stepped up. And now we're asking you to step up with us. 🎥 The video accompanying this post shows these dogs receiving their surgeries. Behind every moment you see is a team of people working to give these animals a healthier, safer future. But behind every surgery is also a bill. Behind every recovery is a cost. And behind every successful rescue is a community willing to say, "These animals matter, and I'm going to help." 💔 We cannot do this work alone. We don't receive unlimited funding. We don't have an endless supply of money waiting for the next emergency. We rely on people like YOU who believe that animals deserve compassion, medical care, and the opportunity to find a loving home. Whether you donate $5, $25, $50, or more, your contribution helps us continue providing the care these dogs need. Every single dollar adds up. Every donation helps us say yes to animals who desperately need somewhere to go. And today, we are hoping this post reaches people who are ready to make a MAJOR IMPACT. People who can give a little more. People who can rally their friends and family. People who can share this post so it reaches someone who has the ability to help cover these veterinary expenses. Because it takes a COMMUNITY to do rescue work. Not just one person. Not just one shelter. All of us. 🐾 Eight dogs are counting on us. Five puppies who should be experiencing the beginning of their lives. Three adults who deserve care, stability, and a future. And a shelter team that will continue fighting for them, but needs your help to keep doing it. 🙏 If you have ever loved an animal, adopted from Granny Rose, supported our mission, or simply believe that every life matters, we are asking you to stand with us today. Please consider making a donation toward the veterinary care of these eight dogs. If you cannot donate, sharing this post is an incredible way to help us reach someone who can. ❤️ Let's show these dogs what happens when a community comes together. Let's turn compassion into action. Let's give them the care they deserve. 📍 Donate through our website: www.grannyroseanimalshelter.org 📍 Or stop by Granny Rose Animal Shelter to make a donation in person. Rescue takes more than a building. More than a staff. More than good intentions. It takes all of us. And right now, these 8 dogs need all of us. 🐾❤ Please share this post!
