Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary

Our Mission

Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary (E.A.R.S.) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving lives and fostering the bond between pets and their forever families. We are committed to creating a compassionate community where every animal receives the love and care they deserve.

Our History

Founded in 2010 by a group of passionate volunteers, E.A.R.S. was established with the vision that education and responsible pet ownership could transform our community. Over the last decade, through the hard work of dedicated individuals and local partners, we are proud to have helped Effingham County become a no-kill community.

A Foster-Based Sanctuary

We are a unique, foster-based organization, which means we do not operate a traditional physical shelter. Instead, 100% of our animals are cared for by dedicated foster families who open their homes and hearts to provide a loving environment until a permanent match is found.

Because every animal is fully vetted, microchipped, and receives necessary medical care, adopters can feel confident that their new family member has been supported by caring professionals every step of the way.

Finding Your Perfect Match

We believe that adoption is the start of a lifelong partnership, and we take great care to ensure each animal is placed in a home that matches their personality and needs. Whether you are looking for a new best friend or hoping to support our mission, we are here to guide you through the process with transparency and kindness.
