Our Mission

Finding Forever Animal Rescue is a dedicated nonprofit organization based in Marion, Illinois, committed to helping animals in need find loving, permanent homes. We work every day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the animals and people we serve.

Our History and Community Focus

Founded in August 2016, we operate as an entirely community-supported rescue without government funding. We bridge a critical gap in our community by providing affordable spay and neuter services to help reduce the local stray cat population, alongside our ongoing rescue and adoption efforts.

How We Care

Our organization is a blend of a physical facility and a dedicated foster network. While our cat residents are housed in free-roaming community rooms at our facility, all of our dogs live in loving foster homes, which provide them with essential socialization and stability while they wait for their perfect match.

Every purchase made through our onsite thrift store, along with every donation and fundraiser, directly supports these lifesaving services. One hundred percent of our thrift store profits go right back into the rescue to cover food, medical care, and shelter for the animals in our care.

The Adopter Connection

We believe every animal has a fitting home, and our goal is to ensure a joyful, lasting partnership between you and your new pet. We take the time to answer your questions and provide advice on how to best acclimate your new companion to their new life with your family.

We invite you to join our community of animal lovers. You can meet our adoptable pets during our business hours, Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 1117 E Main Street in Marion. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!

10/14 - Meet our four sweet orange boys looking for loving forever homes! These handsome little guys may look sleepy in this video, but don't let that fool you! They love to play, explore, and show off their sweet personalities. Whether they are chasing toys, playing with their brothers, or settling in for a cozy nap, these boys are full of love and ready to find families of their own. We have two kittens who are around 3 months old and two who are around 6 months old, so there's a perfect little orange companion for different stages of kittenhood. Each one has his own special personality, and they are all deserving of a family who will love them unconditionally. The good news is that these boys have already checked off some important boxes! All four are neutered, microchipped, started on their vaccines, dewormed, and treated for fleas. 10/10 - Both Daffodil and Blair, our last two girls in the adult cat room, are incredibly affectionate and have such wonderful personalities! They arrived here on different days and had never met until just two days ago 🥹 The best part is that they are NOT bonded. This is simply who they are and how sweet they are with other cats! It has been so much fun watching them interact, and we would love nothing more than to see them adopted together. Of course, adopting them as a pair is not required, and either girl would be lucky to find a loving home of her own. 10/9 - Sometimes you meet someone for the very first time and just know you are going to be friends. That is exactly what happened when Daffodil and Dottie met. These two sweet girls immediately settled in together and started making biscuits while getting to know each other. It was just about the sweetest first meeting we could have hoped for. Dottie is around 2 years old and Daffodil is about 1 year and 8 months old. Both are incredibly sweet, and they are just two of the three very sweet girls currently in our adult room. 9/29 - Eleanor Rigsby is almost 2 years old and is one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet. She is also FIV positive, but that does NOT mean she cannot live a happy, normal life. FIV-positive cats can live with other cats. FIV is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, which means friendly, social cats who are not fighting can safely share a home. Eleanor is such a sweet girl, and we would love for someone to look past her FIV status and see the wonderful cat she is.
