River Valley Animal Rescue

Our Mission

River Valley Animal Rescue is dedicated to feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and providing a safe, temporary haven for all the homeless, abused, abandoned, and neglected companion animals we can reach.

We strive to end population overgrowth by spaying and neutering every animal in our care, ensuring each pet is healthy and ready for a bright future.

Our Journey

Since 2012, we have proudly placed hundreds of animals into their perfect furever homes. As a registered non-profit organization located in Momence, Illinois, we rely entirely on the generosity of the public and the proceeds from our resale shop, Caesar's Palace, to continue our life-saving work.

A Caring Environment

We operate as a no-kill, limited-admission facility where every animal receives the time and medical attention they need to thrive. Beyond our main shelter, we have established the River Valley Cat Oasis to provide our feline residents with a specialized, interactive space that enriches their daily lives while they wait to meet their new families.

Because we have no paid employees, our success is entirely fueled by our dedicated community of volunteers who ensure every dog, cat, bird, and small animal receives the love and care they deserve.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Adopting is the beginning of a beautiful, lifelong partnership. To ensure the best fit for both you and your new companion, our adoption process includes thoughtful applications and consultations with our adoption specialists.

We may also facilitate home visits or trial periods to ensure everyone is settling in happily, as our goal is to create lasting, loving bonds for every animal in our care.
