Little Paws of Mt. Vernon

Helping Little Paws Take Big Steps Since 2021

At Little Paws of Mt. Vernon, our mission is to provide a compassionate bridge for cats and kittens in need. We are a dedicated rescue organization located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, committed to finding loving, permanent homes for the cats in our care.

Our Story and Our Mission

Founded in 2021, our journey began with nothing more than a few pop-up tents in a garage and a big dream. Today, we are proud to operate our own facility in town, allowing us to help more cats than we ever imagined possible thanks to the support of our incredible community.

We address a critical local need caused by cat overpopulation and the abandonment of un-fixed animals. Our goal is to ensure these cats find the safety they deserve while working toward a future where every cat in our community has a home.

Our Approach to Care

We believe that every cat deserves individual attention and the highest quality of care while they wait for their forever families. Our operations rely on both our shelter facility and a network of dedicated fosters who open their homes to kittens, expecting mothers, and cats with special medical needs.

Your Purrfect Match

We are a rescue that operates by appointment only because we want to ensure every adopter receives the focused care they deserve. By taking the time to understand your lifestyle and needs, we help you find the purrfect feline companion who will thrive in your home. Our adoption process is designed to ensure long-term success for both you and your new best friend.

Get Involved

Are you ready to meet your new furry companion? We invite you to explore our adoptable cats, apply to become a foster, or join us at our next event. Together, we can continue to make a lasting impact on our community, one paw at a time.
