Animal Care League
Our Mission
Animal Care League is dedicated to providing compassionate shelter, medical care, and comfort to animals in need while actively promoting the unique and beautiful human/animal bond.
Our History and Community
Since our founding in 1973, we have served as a committed advocate for animals in Oak Park and the surrounding villages. As a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, we rely on the generous support of our community to fulfill our vision of a world where every animal knows love and every person is empowered to be a voice for those in need.
Our Care Model
Located in Oak Park, we operate as a no-kill animal shelter that provides a safe haven for stray animals from our service area. In addition to our dedicated shelter team, we are proud to offer a wide array of resources, including a low-cost clinic for essential medical services like spaying, neutering, and vaccinations to help keep pets healthy and with their families.
Your Adoption Journey
Finding your best friend is a joyous, life-changing experience, and we are here to ensure a perfect match for your home and lifestyle. Because we care deeply about the success of every placement, we require all household members to meet our animals to ensure everyone is ready for this wonderful new chapter together.
Get Involved
Your journey with us doesn't stop at adoption; there are many ways to support our work, from volunteering to joining our community events. We invite you to view our currently adoptable dogs, cats, and small animals online, or visit our Adoption Center in Oak Park to meet your future companion in person. Together, we can provide the second chances our animals deserve.
