Our Mission
The mission of the Livingston County Humane Society (LCHS) is to place each animal who comes to us into a good, loving home while promoting responsible pet care. We are dedicated to rescuing and caring for homeless animals, providing them with a safe, compassionate environment until they find their perfect forever families.
Who We Are
Founded on the support of our community, LCHS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that relies entirely on contributions, grants, and memberships to fund our operations. We operate independently as a private shelter—we are not supported by tax dollars and are not affiliated with Livingston County Animal Control. For over twenty years, we have been a beacon of hope for pets in need, powered by the generosity of supporters like you.
How We Help
At our facility located in the village of Rowe, just outside of Pontiac, our dedicated staff provides essential medical care, spay and neuter services, and enrichment activities to keep our animals healthy and happy. We believe that every pet deserves a second chance, and our team works passionately to ensure each animal receives the attention and care they need while they wait for their new beginning.
