Our Mission
Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.™) is dedicated to improving the lives of pets in need by placing them in safe, loving, lifelong homes. We believe in a humane and compassionate future for all companion animals through rescue, rehabilitation, and community support.
Since 1987
For over 30 years, we have been proud to serve our community by promoting the care and adoption of cats and dogs. As an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we are committed to building a world where every adoptable pet finds its perfect forever home.
Our Care Model
We operate using a unique, combined adoption center and foster home model to best serve the needs of the animals and our community. This balanced approach allows us to provide essential medical care, socialization, and behavioral training in environments that prioritize the emotional and physical well-being of every pet. As a limited access, unlimited stay organization, we ensure that our rescues remain with us until they are matched with the right family.

Our dedicated Adoption Counselors take great pride in getting to know each individual or family to ensure the connection is built for the long haul. We offer ongoing post-adoption support, acting as a resource whenever you need us, because our commitment to our animals truly lasts a lifetime.

10/8 - Have you ever met a dog whose eyes could stop time? Meet Tiki. 🥹❤️ Tiki is at that perfect age where the puppy chaos has settled, but the joy is still overflowing. She knows her basics, loves her people, and is ready to skip the training wheels and get straight to the part where she gets to be someone’s best friend. She adores children. She adores other dogs. And once Tiki decides you’re her person, she’ll happily follow you from room to room just to be close. 🥰 And tennis balls? Her greatest love story. 🎾 Toss one, and she’ll chase it with her whole heart—then bring it right back for another round. But after playtime, Tiki is just as happy curled up beside you, resting her head on your leg and looking into your eyes like she already knows you’re the one. She isn’t asking for much. 10/1 - Two sisters. Two personalities. One very special bond. 🐾 Meet Fluff & Cherry—a sweet sister duo who may take a little time to warm up, but once they trust you, their personalities truly shine. ☁️Fluff is the thoughtful investigator. She likes to check out new people and situations before deciding they’re worthy of her attention. Once she’s comfortable, she’s affectionate, playful and loves pets, brushing, being held and curling up on laps. Her favorite pastime? Her ball tower—and keeping tabs on her sister. 🍒Cherry is the quieter one. She prefers to observe from a cozy spot before joining in, with her priorities firmly focused on sleep, food and Fluff. She loves gentle affection, brushing and simply being near her people. And if there’s a sunny blanket or comfortable corner nearby, you can bet she’ll find it. DOUBLE THE REASON TO ADOPT. 🐾 Meet Mia & Gia, a bonded pair of sisters who prove everything is better with your best friend by your side. 💕 Mia is the confident social butterfly—outgoing, affectionate, and always ready to greet visitors, climb into a lap, or nuzzle into your hair while her purr motor goes nonstop. She also has one very important priority: breakfast. 🍽️ Gia is a little more reserved at first, but once she knows you, she’s all about playtime, pets, and cuddles. And just look closely at that gorgeous black coat—you might spot subtle charcoal stripes hiding in her fur! 🖤 Together, they’re the perfect pair: Mia helps Gia feel confident, Gia keeps Mia company, and both are experts at turning playtime into cuddle time.
