Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL)
Giving Second Chances to Every Pet
A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats into loving forever homes. We believe every animal deserves a safe, happy life, and we are committed to providing that through our extensive rescue efforts.
Our Journey and Our Community
Our story began in 1985 when a small group of volunteers started rescuing animals from shelters in downstate Illinois. Today, we have grown into a dedicated team of over 150 volunteers, working to reduce pet overpopulation and educate the public about the rewards of responsible pet ownership in Wheaton and throughout Illinois.
A Compassionate Care Model
As a primarily foster-based organization, we save over 1,000 homeless cats and dogs every year. By placing animals in foster homes rather than traditional shelters, we ensure they receive individualized attention, socialization, and the essential medical care they need to recover and thrive before meeting their new families.
The Joy of Your Perfect Match
We are deeply committed to ensuring every adoption is a success for both the pet and your family. By carefully considering the animal's personality, medical needs, and your unique living environment, we strive to create lasting, joyful partnerships. Our volunteers are here to guide you through every step of the process, ensuring you feel fully prepared for your new companion.
