A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming homeless dogs and cats into loving forever homes. We are committed to giving animals a second chance at life, regardless of their age or medical history.
Our journey began in 1985 when a small group of volunteers started rescuing animals from downstate Illinois. Since those humble beginnings, we have grown into a dedicated team of over 150 volunteers, saving over 1,200 animals annually by working within our communities to advocate for responsible pet ownership.
A.R.F. operates as a primarily foster-based organization, allowing our pets to live in loving home environments while they recover and prepare for their forever families. We transport animals to our Wheaton, IL base for medical exams and treatment, ensuring each pet receives a specialized care plan before finding their match.
We believe in creating a joyful, lasting bond between pets and their new families through thoughtful matching. Our team works hard to understand each animal's personality so that every adoption is the right fit for both the pet and the household. We are here to support you throughout the process, providing transparency and guidance every step of the way.
Whether you are looking to bring home a new best friend or want to support our life-saving work, there are many ways to get involved. We invite you to view our adoptable pets, explore our upcoming adoption events in the western suburbs of Chicago, or reach out to us to learn about volunteering and fostering.
