Misty Eyes Animal Center - Misty Eyes
A Passion for Second Chances
Misty Eyes Animal Center is dedicated to ending the needless euthanasia of domesticated pets throughout Indiana, reducing owner surrenders, and fostering a culture of kindness toward all living things. We believe in the power of rescue, love, and the magic of a happy, hopeful future for every animal.
Our Journey
Founded in 2011 by Renee Harlor and Cherie Fox, Misty Eyes was born from a desire to address the critical need for animal welfare services in Hendricks County. We operate on the core values of teamwork, integrity, professionalism, and kindness, filling a vital void for homeless pets while advocating for responsible pet ownership.
Our Care Model
Misty Eyes is a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)3 organization that operates as a foster-based rescue, meaning many of our animals receive love and socialization in homes before they are adopted. We are also developing our permanent facility in phases, currently operating our Animal Center and Kitty City locations in Avon to provide a bridge between foster life and your forever home.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We are deeply committed to ensuring the best fit for both your family and the pet you welcome into your life. Our adoption process is thoughtful and personalized, focusing on long-term compatibility rather than a first-come, first-served approach. We love helping you find a companion that aligns with your lifestyle and brings joy to your home.
