Bluffton Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The Bluffton-Wells Co. Animal Shelter is dedicated to ensuring public health and safety while preventing animal neglect and overpopulation. We strive to create a better future for every animal in our care through compassionate rescue, community education, and successful pet adoptions.
Serving Our Community
As a joint venture between the City of Bluffton and Wells County, our shelter serves as a vital resource for our local animal population. We are here to support our community by providing a safe haven for stray, abandoned, or surrendered animals from across the county.
How We Care for Our Animals
Our facility operates with a team of three full-time employees dedicated to the daily well-being of our residents. We also partner with the Friends of the Shelter, a volunteer organization that assists us by fostering animals, providing pet food to those in need, and increasing public awareness. Through this collaborative approach, we work tirelessly to prepare every animal for their eventual transition into a permanent, loving home.
Connecting Pets and People
We believe that adopting a pet is a transformative experience that brings joy to both the animal and the new owner. Many homes would benefit from the positive effects an animal brings, and our staff works to facilitate these meaningful connections every day. While we cannot always provide a full medical history, we offer comprehensive support for every adoption, including necessary vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatments, and a certificate for spaying or neutering at local clinics.
