Canine Castaways Rescue
Our Mission
Canine Castaways Rescue, INC is a dedicated, member-run 501c3 nonprofit committed to giving every dog in Indiana a second chance at a happy life. We work tirelessly to rescue dogs from overcrowded city shelters and help make Shelby County a no-kill community.
The Why
We believe that every dog deserves to be a cherished companion rather than a forgotten soul. Our organization was born from a simple passion to save those cast away, ensuring that no dog is left behind simply because they lacked a safe place to land.
How We Operate
As a volunteer-powered organization, we provide comprehensive care for every animal in our rescue, including essential medical attention, spaying or neutering, and thorough examinations before they head to their new homes. While our facility in Fountaintown also offers boarding services for the community, our primary focus remains on the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of dogs in need.
Your Journey Together
Adoption is a beautiful partnership that transforms both the life of a rescue dog and your own. We take great care to ensure each dog is matched with the right home, and we are always cheering for our long-term residents who have been waiting patiently for that special person to arrive. By choosing to adopt, you are not just getting a pet; you are actively participating in a life-saving mission.
Join Our Mission
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to browse our available rescues and submit an application to start the adoption process. If you are not ready to adopt, you can still support our mission by donating, fostering, or volunteering to help us continue our work for Indiana's dogs.
