Partners for Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) exists to promote animal welfare in Hancock County through humane education, community pet population control, and by helping animals housed in shelters find their forever homes.
Founded on a deep love for animals, P.A.W.S. is committed to carrying on the legacy of our beloved executive director, Nancy Rubino. We strive to continue her lifelong dedication to nurturing, rescuing, and rehabilitating animals in need.
P.A.W.S. is an Indiana not-for-profit corporation operating primarily as a foster-based rescue, where our animals receive personalized care in home environments until they are ready for adoption. We also manage the Paw Print Alley Cattery and maintain a physical center in Greenfield, where we host retail hours and community resources like our 24-hour microchip station.
We believe in creating lifelong matches between people and pets. Because most of our animals are living in loving foster homes, we facilitate a transparent and thoughtful process to ensure each pet finds the perfect environment for their unique personality and needs.
Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in fostering a pet in need, or want to volunteer your time, we invite you to get involved.
