IndyHumane
Our Mission
IndyHumane is dedicated to improving animal welfare in central Indiana by ensuring the well-being, health, and safety of all animals in our care. We strive to end the cycle of pet overpopulation while promoting the powerful, mutually beneficial bond between humans and animals.
A Legacy of Compassion
Founded in 1905, we have spent over a century evolving to meet the changing needs of our community’s pets. From our early days as a society protecting animals in need to our current role as a dedicated shelter, we have remained committed to treating every animal with dignity and respect.
How We Help
We operate as a limited-admission facility, maintaining a safe and humane environment where animals receive the medical care and support they need while waiting for their forever homes. Our dedicated team works tirelessly at our shelter and through our specialized clinics to provide accessible services, including spay/neuter and vaccine support, to help keep pets and their families together.
Your New Best Friend
Adoption is a joyful journey, and our team is here to help you find the perfect companion to fit your lifestyle. We believe in thoughtful matchmaking, ensuring that every pet and family is set up for a successful, loving partnership. When you choose to adopt, you are giving a deserving animal a second chance at a life filled with love and joy.
Start Your Journey Today
Ready to meet your new companion? We invite you to browse our adoptable dogs and cats on our website or visit us in person at our North Michigan Road Adoption Center. Your future best friend is waiting for you, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the IndyHumane family.
