Almost Home Humane Society inspires a more humane community by educating, providing resources, and collaborating to improve the lives of animals and their families. We believe in the power of second chances and are dedicated to helping every pet in our care find a loving forever home.
Serving Our Community for Decades
Formed as the Tippecanoe County Humane Association in 1939, we have spent 87 years committed to the welfare of pets in the Greater Lafayette area. As an independent, private non-profit, we rely entirely on our community’s generosity to serve more than 3,000 animals each year through our diverse programs and services.

We are a shelter-based organization that provides a safe, welcoming environment for pets while they await their new families. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure every animal receives medical care, vaccinations, and behavioral support, consistently maintaining a lifesaving rate that reflects our deep commitment to every individual in our facility.

5/28 - Operation Ink flash tattoo event raising supplies for Almost Home Humane Society
The event takes place Friday and Saturday, requiring a $50 cash payment and a donated item for the shelter to receive a pre-sized tattoo.
