At the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), we are dedicated to loving and protecting dogs and cats by providing shelter, nourishment, medical care, and placement. Our promise is to make our community a better place to live for both animals and humans alike.
Founded in 1998 by animal advocate Terri Panszi, ARF began as a small sanctuary with a big heart. What started as a solo mission to provide a safe haven for homeless animals has grown into the vibrant, facility-based organization you see today at our 1209 W. Riggin Road campus in Muncie, Indiana.
We believe in providing a sanctuary-style environment where animals can thrive while they wait for their forever homes. Our campus includes dedicated spaces like the Kitty Cottage and Jeff’s House for adoptable dogs, as well as Ollie’s Bed & Biscuit, which serves as a permanent residence for dogs with specific medical or behavioral needs. Beyond direct care, we act as a community resource by offering spay/neuter services and supporting low-income pet owners to keep families together.
The love of an animal in your home can be life-changing, and we feel strongly about matching the right pet to the right home. Our adoption process is designed to ensure a successful, long-term bond, and we encourage you to be open and honest in your application. Whether you are looking for a new best friend or simply wanting to learn more, our team is here to guide you through a thoughtful, supportive matching experience.
We invite you to browse our available pets online or visit us during our adoption hours to meet your new family member in person. You can also make a difference by volunteering, donating, or supporting our mission through our thrift store. Together, we can change a life and create a brighter future for our local pets.
