New Albany Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The New Albany Animal Shelter is a dedicated municipal facility committed to protecting the health and safety of both animals and residents in our community. We strive to provide compassionate care, humane resolution for animals in our charge, and education on responsible pet ownership.
Serving Our Community
Located in the heart of downtown New Albany at 215 West Market Street, we serve as a vital resource for local animal control and sheltering. Our work is proudly supported by the Floyd County Animal Rescue League and the Floyd County Humane Society, helping us to unite pets with loving homes and provide essential welfare resources.
How We Care
We believe every animal deserves a fresh start, and our team is here to ensure they are ready for their forever families. Every adoptable animal in our care receives a comprehensive health package, which includes spay or neuter surgery, essential vaccinations, worming, and microchipping. We also feature specialized spaces like Kelsey’s Courtyard, where pets can enjoy play and enrichment while waiting to meet their new companions.
Your New Best Friend
We are dedicated to thoughtful, successful adoptions that create lasting bonds between pets and their new families. By providing detailed information and hosting meet-and-greet appointments, we help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. We encourage you to reach out and schedule a time to meet our wonderful, waiting companions.
