New Castle/Henry County Animal Shelter
A Legacy of Compassion
The Henry County Humane Society is dedicated to the health, welfare, and safety of animals across our community. Through professional care and community support, we strive to ensure every animal finds a path to a loving home.
Our History
Our journey began in 1969, sparked by a young girl's concern for local animals and a community-led call to action. Since then, we have evolved from a small volunteer group into a professional organization that manages the Animal Shelter and serves as a pillar for animal welfare in Henry County.
How We Care
Operating out of the Henry County Pet Care Campus, our shelter provides a dedicated environment where animals are housed, cared for, and prepared for adoption. We further support our community through the on-site Pat's Pet Clinic, which offers essential, low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter services for dogs and cats.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Adoption is a wonderful opportunity to build a lifelong partnership. When you choose to adopt from us, your new companion comes ready for their new life, as all adoptions include spay/neuter services, basic disease vaccinations, and microchipping. Our dedicated Adoption Committee reviews every application to ensure each pet is placed in a setting where they will thrive.
