The Animal Welfare League is dedicated to finding forever homes for every animal that comes into our care. We are committed to serving the Kosciusko County community by providing compassionate care and innovative solutions for our shelter residents.
Our Story
Incorporated in 1989, our organization has grown from humble beginnings into a dedicated advocate for animals in need. In 2019, we moved into our modern facility in Pierceton, and in 2023, we were honored to receive the prestigious Best Friends Animal Society Touchstone Award for our lifesaving efforts.
How We Care
We serve as a vital community resource, welcoming animals into our care and never euthanizing for space. Our passionate staff and volunteers ensure every pet receives a wellness check, microchipping, vaccines, and spay/neuter services while they await their new families. Through programs like our nursery, foster network, and our dedicated cat house, we work tirelessly to keep our pets healthy and happy.
