Owen County Humane Society
Our Mission
The Owen County Humane Society exists to install reverence for all life and to enhance the human-animal bond. We believe in our responsibility as humans to cherish and protect the living creatures on this earth who depend on us for care.
Our History and Community
Since 1993, we have proudly served Owen County, Indiana, and the surrounding areas for over 30 years. We are dedicated to providing essential shelter and compassionate care to local animals in need within our community.
Our Approach to Care
Operating from our facility in Spencer, Indiana, our number one priority is the well-being of the animals in our care. While we are currently operating by appointment only due to staffing needs, our team remains fully committed to maintaining a safe, supportive environment for every animal while they wait for their forever homes.
Building Lifelong Bonds
We believe that adopting a pet is a joyful partnership that enriches both the animal and the human. By focusing on thoughtful placements, we help ensure that every dog, cat, puppy, and kitten finds the perfect match to thrive in their new life.
