Terre Haute Humane Society

Our Mission

The Terre Haute Humane Society is a dedicated non-profit, low-kill shelter committed to providing compassionate care and finding loving, responsible homes for animals in need. We believe every animal deserves a second chance at happiness.

Who We Are

Located in Terre Haute, Indiana, our shelter serves as a safe haven for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small companions. We work tirelessly to support our community by providing professional care and essential services to ensure our animals thrive while awaiting their forever families.

How We Operate

We are a low-kill facility that prioritizes the welfare of our animals through proactive care, spaying and neutering programs, and veterinary support. Our team manages daily operations from our shelter on South Fruitridge, where we provide medical attention, microchipping, and a welcoming environment for animals to socialize and grow.

Your Perfect Match

We pride ourselves on being expert matchmakers who take the time to understand your lifestyle to ensure a successful, joyful partnership. By carefully considering the needs of both the individual animal and the adopter, we strive to create lasting bonds that enrich the lives of everyone involved. Adopting from us is a rewarding experience that changes a life forever.

Join Our Community

We invite you to visit our shelter Tuesday through Sunday to meet the wonderful animals currently in our care. Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in volunteering, or looking to support our mission through donations, you are a vital part of our success. Check out our available dogs and cats online or contact us today to see how you can help.
