Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control (Animal Shelter)
Our Mission
Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control is dedicated to serving and protecting both animals and the people of our community with compassion, professionalism, and respect. We strive to improve the quality of life for all by providing a safe haven for those who need it most.
Serving Our Community
As the municipal animal shelter and control agency for Cedar Rapids, we act as a vital resource for lost, stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals. Our work is rooted in a commitment to responsible pet ownership, education, and fostering strong partnerships across our city.
Our Approach to Care
We operate as an open-admission shelter, meaning we accept animals regardless of their age, breed, medical condition, or behavioral challenges. Our team works tirelessly to provide every animal with the highest level of care, whether they are waiting to be reunited with their families or preparing for a new start.
Finding Your Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful step toward a new beginning, and we are here to help you find a companion that fits your life perfectly. Through our dedicated adoption programs and partnership with Hill’s Science Diet, we ensure that every animal receives quality nutrition while they await their forever home. Your choice to adopt changes a life, and we are honored to help facilitate that connection.
