At the Midlands Humane Society, our mission is to protect and nurture companion animals while enriching the lives of people who love them. We believe in building a better community through the deep, lasting, and loving relationships formed between people and their pets.
Our Story
Our vision began in 2006 when a group of dedicated animal lovers saw a need to do more for the homeless, stray, and unwanted pets in our community. After nearly a decade of careful planning and fundraising, we proudly opened our doors in 2015 as the first and only humane society serving Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County.
