Midlands Humane Society
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect and nurture companion animals and enrich the lives of people who love them. We visualize a better community through the loving relationships between people and their pets, helping tails find happy endings.
Our History
While our facility opened its doors in 2015, the vision for the Midlands Humane Society began in 2006. A group of dedicated animal lovers recognized the urgent need for a dedicated humane society to serve the pets and people of Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County.
How We Care
As the first and only humane society in our area, we provide a safe, comfortable, and professional animal welfare center. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers works daily to rescue, shelter, and rehabilitate animals, ensuring each pet receives the quality care and respect they deserve while awaiting their new family.
The Adopter Connection
We pride ourselves on well-matched, meaningful adoptions that bring joy and companionship into your home. Our process is designed to facilitate a successful transition for both the adopter and the pet, helping you find a purr-fect match that makes your family whole.
