King's Harvest Pet Rescue is a no-kill, non-profit organization dedicated to saving homeless pets by providing shelter, medical care, and the promise of a loving forever home. We serve the Quad Cities and surrounding communities, viewing our staff, volunteers, and public partners as essential to improving animal welfare.
Our roots trace back to King's Harvest Ministries, where director Terri Gleize began housing pets of the unhoused in her own home. Recognizing the profound bond between people and their pets, we grew into the dedicated facility we are today. Since 2015, we have continued to evolve, moving to our current location in Mt. Joy to better serve the animals who need us most.
As a no-kill shelter, we take in homeless and surrendered pets, ensuring every animal receives spay/neuter services and appropriate medical attention. We are also committed to rescuing animals from high-intake, overcrowded facilities, giving them a vital second chance at life. We operate entirely on the generosity of our donors, as we do not receive state or federal funding.
We believe in the power of a perfect match and invite you to visit our shelter to meet our adoptable cats and dogs. Our comprehensive adoption process is designed to ensure that each pet finds a family where they will be cherished. When you adopt from us, you aren't just gaining a pet; you are partnering with a community dedicated to the life and well-being of every animal.
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer your time, or support us through a donation, you are an important part of our mission. Please visit our website to view our available pets, fill out an adoption application, or learn about current volunteer opportunities. We look forward to welcoming you to the shelter and helping you find your new furry family member!
