Story Co. Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The team at the Story County Animal Shelter is comprised of dedicated individuals committed to serving the public and safeguarding the well-being of animals. We are proud to operate as a progressive, responsible, No Kill shelter, ensuring every animal receives the respect and care they deserve.
Serving Our Community
We provide essential animal control and sheltering services for rural Story County and 12 partner cities. By facilitating adoptions and reuniting lost pets with their owners, we strive to create a safer environment for both our residents and their beloved animal companions.
Our Approach to Care
We believe no animal should be lost to a lack of space, time, or resources. Our facility focuses on the rehabilitation and treatment of animals with injuries or illnesses, giving them a second chance at finding a forever home. Through our robust foster program and partnerships with other rescue agencies, we provide the extra love, attention, and medical care necessary to help our animals thrive while they wait for their new families.
Your Adoption Journey
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect companion. To ensure the best experience for both you and our animals, we utilize an application process that allows our team to facilitate meaningful meet and greets. Our staff members are dedicated to guiding you through every step of this rewarding transition.
