Our Mission
Safe Haven of Iowa County is dedicated to rescuing, protecting, and rehabilitating cats and dogs in need. We work tirelessly to find loving, permanent homes for every animal that comes through our doors while striving to reduce local overpopulation through education and accessible spay and neuter programs.
Our Story
Our journey began with a generous act in 2012, when Virginia Marie Hoppe gifted the former Krauss Furniture building to our organization. This grand gesture provided us with a dedicated space to breathe new life into abandoned or lost pets, ensuring they have a safe, welcoming environment while they wait for their forever families.
How We Help
We believe in providing the highest level of care for our animals within our shelter facility in South Amana. While we maintain a network of support, our shelter is designed to be a highly visible, accessible place for potential adopters to meet our residents directly, as we find that face-to-face interaction is the best way to facilitate successful adoptions.
