Our Mission
Our mission is to change their world one rescue at a time. We strive to save animals at risk of euthanasia and give them the chance to become happy, healthy, and cherished companions.
Who We Are
Since our inception in 2014, Beauties and Beasts, Inc. has been working to break the cycle of abuse and neglect for dogs and cats in the Wichita, Kansas, area. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are a volunteer-led organization 100% dependent on the support of our generous community.
Our Care Model
We are dedicated to providing a safe, loving environment for the animals in our care. While we maintain a private boarding facility for approximately 50 adoptable dogs, the majority of our animals reside in foster homes, which allows us to care for 300-350 animals at any given time. We never discriminate based on breed, age, medical needs, or behavior because we believe every animal deserves a loving home.

Once she completed her stray hold in the small town holding facility she was transferred to Wichita Animal Shelter where she immediately landed on the euth list for hairloss/fleas. Nala has been given a deadline of 10/16/26 to have a home or will be up for euthanasia. 💔 KHS NOTES: RESCUE PULL ONLY MEDICAL Visual exam only-severe, generalized traumatic alopecia. Hyperpigmentation/lichenification of ventrum and medial aspect of all four limbs. Flea dirt. Several open superficial wounds (suspected from scratching). Behavior to administer Capstar/NexGard. Rx: Cephalexin x7 days, Prednisone (allergy dose). Dog was curled up on her blanket when assessor approached, and lifted her head to look at assessor while they were opening the kennel door. She never growled or barked, and sniffed treats when they were tossed towards her. She sniffed assessor's hand and leash with no further response. Assessor slipped the leash over her head to no response. Assessor used leash pressure to essentially "hoist" her up on her front legs, and then released all pressure. She did not flail or pancake, and got her legs underneath her very well. Assessor used one more session of leash pressure to get her standing, and then released all leash pressure. Once the release happened, she started taking small steps forward and then quietly started walking out of her kennel and down the loft. She walked well for the rest of the trip, and stopped to potty outside, showing signs of house training with a clean kennel. Once inside, she approached assessor #1 to greet and sniff without any trouble, but it took a few minutes for her to be comfortable with pets from assessor #1. Assessor #4 was able to pet her immediately and without trouble, she sat next to the assessor frequently to receive more pets. DVM entered the room and Nala had no strong reaction to her, just approaching and sniffing her legs while she walked. Nala is definitely a "shadow" and likes to follow people around. DVM completed a visual exam on her wounds and hair loss, determining her to be medical RPO. Behavior Assessors were able to complete all medding on her without issue. Watch on Facebook9/29 - Albert is recovering at Caring hearts after we got some sad news. He is extremely anemic from all the fleas and is showing some Nurological issues. He has a head tilt and seems to be blind in his left eye. We aren’t sure if the fear is from his symptoms or something bad happening. As sweet as he is he is also very shy of things. We will keep him under care while he recovers from the anemia and hoping the neurological symptoms we see will resolve.
