Leavenworth County Humane Society, Inc. is dedicated to building and operating a 21st-century, no-kill shelter to provide compassionate care for the pets and residents of Leavenworth County.
Our Story
With roots tracing back to 1885, our organization has evolved through a long history of advocacy to meet the changing needs of our community. Re-launched in 2009 with a renewed vision, we work closely with city and county leadership, business associations, and human services agencies to foster a safer environment where both people and animals can thrive together.
How We Care
We believe in transparency and professional standards, operating as a managed admission shelter committed to the health and well-being of every animal in our care. Our pets are fully supported prior to adoption, receiving vaccinations, microchipping, and essential medical care to ensure they are ready for their new homes.
