Our Mission
Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a dedicated no-kill 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing second chances for cats in need. We strive to change the outcome for every feline that arrives under our care through kindness, compassion, and empathy.
A History of Care
Formed in 2008, our group began as a collective of passionate rescuers and individuals with a deep affinity for cats. Since 2014, we have operated from our own facility near old downtown Lenexa, where we continue to uphold the same principles that guided us from day one.
How We Help
We primarily intake cats from shelters and animal control agencies where they face the risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding or non-medical conditions. Every cat we rescue is fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped before becoming available for adoption. We believe in providing a safe transition, utilizing our adoption center and a network of volunteers to prepare these pets for their forever homes.

Our volunteers are deeply invested in the lives of our adoptables, and we work hard to ensure the adoption process is a positive experience that benefits both the cat and you. We prioritize thoughtful matches to create lifelong partnerships, offering visitation rooms at our center so you can connect one-on-one with your future companion.
