Imagine Furever Ranch
A Haven for Senior Dogs
Imagine FURever Ranch is a 501(c)(3) senior dog rescue and sanctuary dedicated to providing a second chance at life for older pups in the Kansas City area. We strive to create a world where senior dogs are cherished, comforted, and celebrated for their golden years.
Our Heartfelt Mission
Born from a vision to provide a safe, loving, and healthy environment, we transformed a former school in Shawnee, Kansas, into a dedicated sanctuary. We believe that every senior dog deserves a life filled with compassion, kindness, and joyful experiences until their very last breath.
A Unique Sanctuary Experience
Unlike traditional kennels, our facility is an open, couch-filled space on four acres of land with big, shady trees where dogs can roam freely. As a 100% volunteer and donation-driven organization, our care model focuses on providing emotional and medical support in a home-like environment rather than behind bars. From yoga and live music events to daily socialization, we bridge the gap between people and pooches in a truly welcoming setting.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
We are committed to thoughtful matching, ensuring that each of our canine residents finds the right home through adoption or dedicated foster partnerships. Adopting a senior dog is a deeply rewarding partnership that brings peace and happiness into both your home and the life of a deserving animal. All our residents are vaccinated and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
Join Our Mission
The Ranch is yours to explore! We invite you to meet our current residents, learn about our volunteer opportunities, or discover how your support helps us continue this vital ministry of action. Whether you want to scratch some bellies in our lodge or open your home to a foster dog, there is a place for you in our community.

10/2 - 🐾 Jack’s got skills… and he’d like to shake on a FURever home. 🤝😂 This scruffy little gentleman has apparently been working on his résumé, and as you can see, “excellent handshake” is right at the top. Jack is a 7-year-old, 19-pound Jack Russell Terrier who is happy, lively, sweet and endlessly curious. He’s an alert little guy who likes to keep tabs on everything happening around him, has an adorable prance when he walks, and is perfectly content hanging out beside his person once his investigating is done. One important Jack fact: he’s an escape artist. His future family will need to be diligent about securely closed doors and gates, properly fitted leashes and a safe outdoor setup. He spent time roaming before coming to The Ranch, and we want his wandering days to be firmly behind him. But seriously… that face. Those ears. That handshake. ❤️ Think Jack might be the little sidekick you’ve been looking for? 👉 Learn more about Jack on Petfinder: https://bit.ly/JackIFR Applications now being accepted for the position of Jack’s FURever family. 🐾💕

9/21 - 🐾⛳ What a day! THANK YOU! ⛳🐾 Our 2nd Annual Old Dog Open is officially in the books, and we’re still smiling. ❤️ To everyone who joined us at @topgolf, put together a team, donated an auction item, placed a bid in our silent auction, volunteered, shared our posts or simply cheered us on — thank you for showing up for our old dogs. Events like this are about so much more than a morning of Topgolf. Every registration, bid and donation helps Imagine FURever Ranch continue providing the veterinary care, comfort and love our senior dogs need while they wait for their FURever homes. 🐶 A huge thank you to Topgolf Overland Park for being such amazing hosts! Your team took wonderful care of us and helped make the day fun, easy and memorable from beginning to end. And speaking of fun... We had SO much fun that we’ve already decided The Old Dog Open is coming back in 2027. 🎉 And we have a feeling next year might be a little bigger, a little better and a whole lot more fun. 👀⛳🐾 Consider that your first official tease. 😉 For now, thank you to everyone who made this year's Old Dog Open possible. You showed up for our seniors, and we couldn't be more grateful. Until 2027... Old Dogs. Brighter Tomorrows. ❤️🐾
