Cat Association of Topeka

A Legacy of Love

For 35 years, the Cat Association of Topeka (C.A.T.) has been dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for abandoned and relinquished cats in our community. We believe that every life is valued, and we work tirelessly to provide a safe, nurturing environment for cats and kittens while they wait for their new families.

Our Mission and Commitment

Founded in 1988 by volunteers with a shared passion for animal welfare, we have grown from a small group into a trusted local resource. Our mission extends beyond the shelter; we are committed to educating the public on responsible pet guardianship, the importance of spaying and neutering, and the necessity of preventative veterinary care.

How We Provide Care

As a no-kill shelter, we are proud to offer a safe harbor for our feline friends. While we have limited space and resources, we prioritize cats in the greatest need, ensuring each one receives the care and attention they deserve until they find their perfect match. We are run by a team of dedicated people who focus on the individual well-being of every cat in our care.

Finding Your Perfect Companion

We believe that adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership, which is why we are so careful about our placement process. Our goal is to make the best match by considering the personality, energy, and needs of both the cat and your family. By taking the time to find the right fit, we ensure that our cats transition smoothly into homes where they will be loved for a lifetime.
