The Wellington Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and finding loving, responsible forever homes for homeless dogs and cats in Sumner County, Kansas. We are committed to lifesaving practices, treating every animal with respect and compassion as they wait for their new families.
Operating since the completion of our main facility in November 2019, we have served as a vital resource for our community. We rely solely on the generous support of donors, members, and sponsors to continue our essential work. Our presence ensures that animals in need have a safe place to heal and thrive while awaiting their next chapter.
As a proud no-kill shelter, we maintain a 90% save rate and prioritize the health and well-being of our residents. Our team of limited staff and dedicated volunteers works diligently to provide high-quality care within our shelter and veterinary clinic. We also actively work to reduce pet overpopulation in our community through our low-cost spay/neuter programs.
We believe that every adoption is the start of a beautiful, lifelong partnership. By taking the time to understand both the animal’s needs and the adopter’s lifestyle, we help ensure a match that brings joy to both the pet and the home. We encourage you to visit our facility to meet our wonderful dogs and cats who are ready to become part of your family.
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, foster, or support us through membership, there are many ways to get involved! Please visit our website to explore our adoptable pets, fill out an application, or contact us to schedule a visit. We would love to have you join our mission of saving lives.
