Cowley County Humane Society INC
Our Mission
The Cowley County Humane Society is dedicated to engaging the hearts, hands, and minds of our community to help animals and provide essential resources for those who care for them. We are committed to fostering a world where every animal receives the love, compassion, and respect they deserve.
Who We Are
Since the early 2000s, we have served as a beacon of hope for countless four-legged companions. As an open-admission shelter located in Winfield, we work tirelessly to ensure every pet in our care is provided with nutritious food, medical support, and a comfortable environment.
Our Approach to Care
Our work is made possible through an incredible network of staff, volunteers, fosters, and community partners, including the City of Arkansas City, the City of Winfield, and the Cowley County Board of Commissioners. We combine these resources to provide a safe, nurturing sanctuary for animals while they wait for their forever homes. By maintaining transparency and accountability in our annual reporting, we ensure our community is always part of our journey.
Your Role in Their Journey
We believe that adopting a pet is a joyful partnership that transforms lives. Our adoption program is carefully designed to match each animal with a responsible, loving family, ensuring a successful transition for both the pet and the adopter. We are proud to provide ongoing resources, including behavioral support and veterinary services, to keep your new family member happy and healthy.
