Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society

Our Mission

At the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society, we strive to improve the lives of animals and people through advocacy, education, and support. We are dedicated to making a difference one animal at a time, guided by our vision of a better world for all animals—until they all have a home.

Serving Our Community

We serve the South Central Kentucky area with compassion, care, and respect for all. As an open-intake facility, we take great pride in our high adoption rates and the work we do to place animals in our care into wonderful, loving new homes.

Our Commitment to Care

Our organization is built on a foundation of professional care and community partnership. From our Hotaling Spay/Neuter Clinic and preventative medical services to our dedicated adoption teams and rescue transport programs, we work tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of the pets in our community. Every animal we care for receives a fresh start, supported by our team of staff and volunteers who prioritize their comfort and long-term happiness.

Find Your New Best Friend

Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect companion to join your family. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy, a senior cat, or a small furry friend, our team is committed to providing a thoughtful, transparent experience for every potential adopter. We invite you to view our adoptable pets and join our efforts in creating a brighter future for the animals who need us most.

Sammie Mae was clearly living her best life out of the shelter, soaking up all the love at WBKO. It’s easy to see why she’s a Certified Good Girl! 🍔🥤 Sammie Mae’s adoption fees are FULLY SPONSORED, thanks to our friends at Sonic Drive-In! Through our new "Sonic’s Sidekicks" partnership, Bowling Green Sonic locations are sponsoring TWO featured dogs every week for the next several weeks to help them find forever homes faster. 🐶✨ 🐾 GET TO KNOW SAMMIE MAE: She’s a 7-year-old Pit Bull Mix. She’s housebroken, sweet, and totally obsessed with belly rubs! When Sammie Mae gets excited, her whole body wiggles and shakes as she wags her tail. She is a staff favorite because of her amazing personality. She gets along with other dogs, but prefers not to share her human's attention, so she’ll thrive best as your one-and-only spoiled girl! 10/6 - 🚨 REAL TALK: We are BEGGING for fosters! 🍼🐾 BGWCHS currently has several litters of kittens waiting for a foster home to open up. Right now, our most critical need is for foster parents who are comfortable (or willing to learn!) bottle-feeding tiny tots. Formula-fed kittens simply cannot survive without dedicated foster homes to feed and care for them. 🍼 If you work from home, are retired, or have a flexible daily schedule, you are a prime candidate for bottle-feeding fostering! AND, you are desperately needed right now — these tiny lives cannot be saved without your help. ❓ Never bottle-fed a kitten before? THAT IS OKAY! Our staff will happily train you on everything you need to know, and BGWCHS provides ALL the supplies, formula, and medical support to help these kittens thrive in your home. You bring the love and time; we provide the rest! If you’ve been on the fence about fostering, this is your sign. Please step up and help us save these vulnerable babies. 💬 Comment below or message our page directly to get started! 🔄 PLEASE SHARE this post—even if you can’t foster, your share might reach someone who can! #BGWCHS #FosterKittens #FosterSavesLives #BowlingGreenKY #CommunitySupport #BGShelterPets
