Scott County Animal Care and Control
Our Mission
Scott County Animal Care and Control is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of animals and protecting our community through compassionate service. We are committed to placing stray and surrendered animals into loving, forever homes.
Who We Are
As a department of the Scott County Government, we serve as the primary resource for animal welfare and law enforcement within our region. We manage the local animal shelter at 1185 Cardinal Drive in Georgetown, where our team works daily to provide care and support for domestic and livestock animals.
How We Help
Our facility serves as a safe haven for animals in need, managing both local animal control efforts and an active adoption program. Our staff and facility are dedicated to maintaining a clean and secure environment for all pets awaiting their perfect match, ensuring each animal receives the attention and care they deserve while in our custody.
Find Your New Best Friend
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we believe in creating successful, lasting partnerships between our animals and their new families. Whether you are looking for a playful companion like a Shepherd mix or a gentle soul like a senior Pit Bull, we strive to help you find the right fit for your lifestyle.
Get Involved
We invite you to view our currently available animals on our website and submit an application through our online portal to begin the process. If you have questions or would like to learn more about our mission, please reach out to us at (502) 863-7897 or visit our office Monday through Friday to meet our wonderful residents in person.
