The Scott County Humane Society is united in a mission to ensure humane care and conditions for companion animals through spay/neuter initiatives, humane awareness education, and responsible pet adoption.
Since 1981, our volunteer-run organization has provided lifesaving programs to cats and dogs throughout our community. We work closely with the Scott County Animal Shelter to provide a bridge for homeless pets, helping them transition into loving homes through our dedicated rescue and foster-adoption programs.
We believe every animal deserves a loving environment while they wait for their forever family. Because most of our animals thrive in foster homes, they receive personalized attention and care, becoming accustomed to family life and social interaction. We also maintain an Adoption and Education Center in Georgetown, providing a welcoming space for our feline friends to meet potential adopters.
When you adopt from the Scott County Humane Society, you aren't just gaining a new family member; you are creating space for another animal in need to receive a second chance. We pride ourselves on thoughtful matchmaking, and our adoption counselors are here to help you find the perfect companion that fits your lifestyle and home.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to search our available animals, book a visit to our Adoption Center, or join our email list to stay updated on upcoming events and adoption specials. Together, we can ensure every cat and dog finds the loving home they deserve.
