The Jessamine Humane Society is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to the protection of all animals from cruelty and exploitation. We work tirelessly to eliminate pet overpopulation and ensure every animal in our care finds a loving forever home.

Our Care Model
We operate as a volunteer-driven, foster-based organization, which means all of our animals awaiting adoption live in supportive foster homes rather than a traditional shelter facility. This personal environment allows our animals to receive individualized care and affection while they prepare for their transition to a permanent family.

Finding the best-suited home for each animal is our highest priority, and we view the adoption process as a joyful partnership between the JHS, our foster volunteers, and you.
