Golden Retriever Rescue and Adoption of Needy Dogs
Our Mission
GRRAND—Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs—is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and compassionate rehoming of dogs in need. We strive to improve lives by providing a secure, loving path to a permanent forever home.
Our History and Community
Since 1996, our all-volunteer organization has helped over 5,000 dogs find new beginnings. We exist to support golden retrievers, golden doodles, and Labrador retrievers whose lives have been impacted by family changes such as illness, relocation, or financial hardship.
How We Care
Our work is powered by a network of volunteers and a dedicated kennel facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Most of our rescues receive personalized attention in foster homes to assess their temperaments and help them adjust to life in a safe, warm environment before finding their perfect match.
A Joyful Partnership
We believe that a successful adoption is built on thoughtful, careful matching. By learning the individual history, emotional needs, and personality of each dog, we work to ensure that your new family member is the right fit for your lifestyle. We are committed to transparency and provide lifetime resources and guidance to help you and your dog thrive together.

10/17 - 🩷 Honey Update 🩷 Honey is growing stronger every day! She's still eating well, being the very best momma, and making wonderful progress. DONATE NOW: https://givebutter.com/savehoney Every day, her walks get a little longer, and she continues to be the star of her foster family's neighborhood. Everywhere she goes, Honey wins hearts. She loves every person she meets, adores children, and enjoys meeting other neighborhood dogs on her walks. We couldn't be happier with how far she's come, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who has checked in, kept Honey in their thoughts, and donated to help with her care. While Honey is doing great, her medical journey isn't over yet. Her emergency C-section and ongoing veterinary care have created significant expenses. If you'd like to help support Honey and her puppies, donations can still be made through our Givebutter fundraiser. Every contribution helps ensure Honey gets the care she needs as she continues her recovery. Our next update will be after Tuesday's vet visit, when we hope to get all those staples from her C-section removed. Thank you for loving Honey right alongside us. ❤️🐾 DONATE NOW: https://givebutter.com/savehoney Viewing on insta? 10/12 - 💛 Honey Update: Every Day Brings More Hope 💛 🚨 Help us continue Honey's recovery journey: DONATE NOW: https://givebutter.com/savehoney Sweet Honey is getting stronger every day! She's venturing out of the whelping box more often, exploring her surroundings, and showing us just how resilient she truly is. One of the milestones we're most excited to share is that Honey is now strong enough to walk outside for potty breaks on her own. No more carrying this brave mama! Her puppies are thriving too. They are growing, gaining strength, and doing exactly what healthy puppies should do. Watching this little family overcome so much has been nothing short of incredible. Just days ago, Honey was fighting for her life after an emergency C-section, a devastating hemorrhage, and multiple emergency veterinary interventions. Today, because of exceptional veterinary care, a devoted foster family, and supporters like you, she is steadily moving forward. We still have a long road ahead, and Honey's medical expenses remain significant, but these daily victories remind us why we fight so hard for dogs like her. ❤️ We can't do this without you. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, shares, and donations. Every gift helps ensure Honey and her puppies continue to receive the care they need. 10/10 - 🚨 URGENT: Fund Honey's Critical Medical Care 🚨 ❤️ DONATE NOW: https://givebutter.com/savehoney We promised to keep you updated on sweet Honey, and today brings a little more hope. After an incredibly difficult week that included an emergency C-section, a life-threatening hemorrhage, two blood transfusions, multiple emergency vet visits, and more than $6,000 in medical expenses, Honey is finally showing signs of improvement. Today, Honey is making an effort to get out of the whelping box on her own and is gaining strength each day. While she's still very weak, these small milestones mean everything. Honey is back home with her foster family, where she is receiving around-the-clock care, nutritious homemade meals, puppy formula supplements, and plenty of love. Her puppies continue to thrive with supplemental feedings, and despite everything she has endured, Honey remains completely devoted to them. She still needs help getting outside for potty breaks, but she's slowly becoming more active and showing us glimpses of her sweet, determined spirit. Every step forward is because of the incredible veterinary care she received and the support of donors who have rallied behind her. 💛 Thank you for keeping Honey in your thoughts and prayers. Please continue to share her story and, if you're able, consider making a donation to help offset her mounting medical expenses. 10/7 - Honey's Sweet Surprise After three days of false-start labor and keeping everyone on edge, Honey's journey took an unexpected turn when she required an emergency C-section this evening. We're happy to report that Honey came through like a champ and welcomed nine beautiful, healthy puppies into the world! And the biggest surprise of all? Honey is a Golden Retriever... but every single one of her puppies is BLACK! Mom and babies are doing well, resting comfortably, and soaking up plenty of cuddles as Honey settles into motherhood. We're incredibly grateful for the veterinary team that helped bring this precious little litter safely into the world. Welcome, little ones! We can't wait to watch you grow. Please keep Honey and her nine babies in your thoughts as they recover and thrive. #GRRAND #HoneysPuppies #PuppyAnnouncement #EmergencyCSection #RescueDogs
