Catnip Foundation at Big Sky Ranch
Changing Lives Through Compassion
Big Sky CARES is dedicated to changing the ways we think and feel about living with and caring for animals. Our mission is to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes through our diverse range of community resources and education services.
Our Story and Purpose
Formerly known as Big Sky Ranch/CATNIP Foundation, we have grown into a comprehensive non-profit 501c3 rescue organization. We address a critical community need by operating two facilities and managing over a dozen programs aimed at providing sustainable support for animals and the people who love them.
How We Help
Our operations are built on a multifaceted approach to animal welfare. Beyond our rescue efforts, we manage a community clinic in Folsom, Louisiana, that provides everything from basic care and spay/neuter services to critical care and dental treatments. We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers and foster caregivers who help us manage daily tasks, from animal socialization to our vital Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program for community cats.
The Joy of Adoption
Adoption is a joyful partnership that transforms both the animal and the family. We are committed to thoughtful, transparent processes that ensure every pet finds the right environment to thrive. Whether you are looking for a companion to grow old with or a new member of your family, we are here to guide you toward a successful and rewarding adoption experience.
Join Our Mission
We invite you to be a part of our life-saving work. You can view our available pets online, visit our adoption center on Saturdays, or schedule an appointment to meet our animals during the week. From fostering to volunteering, there are many ways to make a difference at Big Sky CARES.
