Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS)
Our Mission
At Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS), our mission is to improve our community through the practice of compassion. We are dedicated to saving and protecting animals, providing them with quality care and treatment, and enhancing the beautiful human-animal bond.
Serving Our Community
Our organization exists to support the needs of Jefferson Parish by ensuring the welfare of our four-legged residents. We provide a safe haven for lost animals while they await reunion with their families and work diligently to provide homeless animals with the chance to find a loving, forever home.
How We Care
We operate animal shelters that provide a secure environment for pets in need. Beyond our physical facilities, our team is deeply committed to animal advocacy, investigating reports of neglect to ensure every pet is treated with the dignity they deserve.
The Joy of Adoption
Choosing to adopt means welcoming a new companion into your life and giving them the second chance they truly deserve. We believe in the power of this connection and are here to help you find a pet that will become a cherished member of your family, creating a partnership built on happiness and mutual love.
Join Our Family
We invite you to visit our website to view our currently available companions or to learn more about our adoption process. If you have extra time to share, we are always looking for volunteers to help walk our dogs and provide them with the exercise and companionship they crave. Whether you are looking to adopt or volunteer, we look forward to welcoming you to JPAWS.
