9/24 - ‼️WHY WE SPAY & NEUTER‼️ When Animal Control Officer Morgan heard that a parish resident was past their capacity for care for the numerous dogs on their property, she knew she had to respond. A small team went on-site to take an inventory of the dogs and we quickly learned there were more than 40 present. Some were even initially overlooked due to the sheer number roaming and living outdoors, as well as inside their residence. Conditions were less than ideal and most of the dogs were underweight and lacking of needed veterinary care. Some even lacked names…as the owner admitted there were too many to even keep track. Time was of the essence. Immediately, the three youngest puppies were taken into our care to ensure their safety and health. It was only the next day that we secured placement with a dedicated rescue partner: Rescue, Rehome, Repeat. We continue to show our appreciation as they also committed to two young puppies remaining on the property, as well as nine of the female adults. We are truly relieved to announce that these lucky few were fast tracked from inadequate conditions to passionate foster homes. That means 14 have officially secured themselves a second chance at life! We may only be halfway through saving these sickly souls, but we will not stop until every animal in St. Tammany Parish is in a loving, caring and safe home. We need kennel space to pull the next group into our care. Which means we need FOSTERS, ADOPTERS, & RESCUE PARTNERS!
