The Lafayette Animal Shelter & Care Center (LASCC) is dedicated to finding, protecting, and serving the citizens and animals of Lafayette Parish. We strive to achieve lasting harmony between our human and animal residents through innovative community engagement.
A Commitment to Life
Since the introduction of our No-Kill 2020 initiative in 2016, we have transformed our operations to prioritize the lives of every animal in our care. Through a combination of increased adoptions, robust rescues, and a successful trap-neuter-return (TNR) program for cats, we proudly reached a 90.3% save rate by 2020. Our success is fueled by the vital support of our community and dedicated partnerships with organizations like Acadiana Animal Aid and Wildcat Foundation/SpayNation.
How We Care
We believe every animal deserves a safe and nurturing environment. While we provide expert medical care and comfort within our facility, we also rely on our compassionate foster network to provide individualized socialization and care for nursing mothers, orphaned kittens and puppies, and animals needing a break from the shelter environment. This dedicated care ensures that every pet is physically and emotionally prepared to transition into their forever home.
