Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing compassionate care, safety, and shelter for animals that are lost, abandoned, or surrendered. We are committed to ensuring every animal in our care receives the food, medical attention, and socialization they need to thrive while awaiting their forever families.
Serving Our Community
As a vital resource for the Lafourche Parish community, we address the needs of local animals by providing a safe transition from uncertainty to security. Our work is centered on the belief that every pet deserves a supportive environment, whether they are waiting to be reunited with their owners or finding a brand-new place to call home.
How We Care
Our facility in Thibodaux serves as a hub of care where our staff works tirelessly to prepare our animals for adoption. We provide essential medical care and consistent socialization, ensuring that every dog and cat is ready to integrate into a loving household. Through our collaboration with partners like the Bissell Pet Foundation and our active adoption programs, we strive to give every resident the best possible start in their next chapter.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, which is why we take a thoughtful approach to matching pets with new owners. Our team conducts personal interviews and reviews potential homes to ensure that every placement is suitable for both the animal and the family. We invite you to join us in this mission by meeting our adoptable residents and discovering the wonderful companions waiting for you.
