HART for Animals, Inc.
Our Mission
HART for Animals, Inc. is dedicated to saving the lives of companion animals in Western Maryland, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. Our mission is to improve the condition of animals through rescue, transport, and by providing a supportive, humane environment for those awaiting their forever homes.
Our Story
Since our founding in 2003, we have successfully rescued over 14,000 animals. Located in the beautiful mountains of Western Maryland, our facility serves as a beacon of hope, born from a desire to reduce the number of animals that would otherwise be euthanized each year.
Our Unique Model
We believe in services with a mission. Our state-of-the-art animal center functions as more than just a shelter; it incorporates a full-service veterinary practice, pet hotel, and grooming services. By operating these professional services, we generate essential revenue that directly supports our Adoption Wing, allowing us to house up to 60 dogs and 40 cats while they await their perfect match.
The Adopter Connection
Finding the right companion is a journey that takes time and thoughtful consideration. Our dedicated staff and volunteer counselors are here to help you navigate our HART to HEART matching guide, ensuring that every adoption creates a joyful, lifelong partnership. Whether you are seeking a playful puppy or a sweet senior, we provide the support you need to feel confident in your decision.
