Allegany County Animal Shelter
A Shelter of Hope
The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as a Shelter of Hope for lost, abandoned, and homeless animals in Allegany County. We strive to provide a safe, loving environment while strengthening our community through compassionate animal care and education.
Our Journey
In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens joined forces to transform our shelter into a place of healing and care. We have since transitioned into an active community service organization, dedicating ourselves to providing support, resources, and a safe haven for animals in need.
Our Care Model
We believe that every animal deserves a chance, and we work tirelessly to reflect the kindness of our community. Our operations rely on a blend of dedicated staff, volunteer support, and essential community donations to provide medical care, rehabilitation, and temporary foster homes for animals awaiting their perfect match.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Our staff is here to ensure that your new family member has a successful transition into a permanent, loving home. We provide medical and behavioral information to help you make an informed decision, ensuring that every adoption is a joyful partnership built on care and mutual trust.
Join Our Mission
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer your time, or contribute through donations, you play a vital role in our success. We invite you to view our available dogs and cats online or visit us at our facility in Cumberland to meet the wonderful animals waiting to meet you.
