Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter

Our Mission

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing enrichment, basic care, and love to animals while helping them find their forever homes. We strive to create a safe, supportive environment for pets in need within our community.

Serving Our Community

As the Calvert County Animal Shelter, we serve our local residents by providing essential animal services and upholding updated animal control ordinances designed to protect our beloved pets. We are a community-focused resource where animal welfare meets compassionate professional care.

Our Care Model

Our shelter operates through a dedicated team that provides daily enrichment and medical oversight, supported by the advice of our in-house veterinarian. We also utilize a robust foster care program, which offers a critical space for animals to grow and for the sick or injured to heal in a home environment.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Adoption is a joyful journey, and we believe in thoughtful matching to ensure a lasting partnership between you and your new companion. We require a pre-screening application to help our staff understand your lifestyle, expectations, and the environment you provide, ensuring that every pet finds the right home for their specific needs.

Join Our Family

Whether you are looking to adopt a dog, cat, or other animal, or are interested in becoming a volunteer or foster parent, there are many ways to get involved. We invite you to visit our facility at 5055 Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick, explore our currently adoptable animals on our website, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on our latest news and events.
